ABOUT ME

_AUG5628.jpg

I’m the author of the Cupids Trilogy (A Roll of the Bones, Such Miracles & Mischiefs, A Company of Rogues) as well as Most Anything You Please, A Sudden Sun, That Forgetful Shore, and By the Rivers of Brooklyn -- all works of historical fiction set in Newfoundland. I’ve also written several books of inspirational fiction, many of which are re-imaginings of Bible stories. These include Esther: A Story of Courage, James: The Brother of Jesus, and Lydia: A Story of Philippi.

In the rest of my life, I’m a mom to two young adults, wife to Jason, and a retired teacher. I spend the last 20 years of my career first as a teacher and later as admissions co-ordinator at a wonderful adult-education program called The Murphy Centre. In June 2025 I retired to finally, after all these years, become a full-time writer.

I live in St. John’s, Newfoundland, the place where I was born, and consider myself a Newfoundlander first and a Canadian second. I attend the same church my parents took me to when I was a child; I sometimes describe myself as a Seventh-day Adventist who doubts, questions, and loves her church dearly. I like to think and talk about all kinds of things, so if you want to keep up on how I see the world and what’s happening with me, check out the occasional posts on my personal blog.
